Collaboration is an essential part of Meta’s sustainability strategy and is key to our ability to make a difference. That is why we build partnerships with globally renowned organizations — nonprofits, businesses, and civil society — that are leading the way and enable communities to tell their stories and connect with one another.
We understand the urgency of climate change but recognize the challenge is too great for any of us to solve alone. We are harnessing the power of our platforms — such as Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and Oculus — to share information about the impacts of climate change and catalyze climate action.

UN Climate Change Conventions
Our collaboration with The United Nations, one of our key partners, demonstrates how Facebook’s platforms can serve as powerful tools to generate support for climate action. Since 2015, we have supported the UN Climate Change Conventions, hosting Facebook Live studios and collaborating on innovative campaigns like the People’s Seat and the UN’s ActNow Messenger Bot to drive awareness and foster actions to combat climate change.

Climate Week
We continue to do our part to support The Paris Climate Agreement through our ongoing involvement with organizations like The Climate Group. During Climate Week and the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in 2020, we partnered with The Climate Group to create and distribute more climate-related content on Facebook.
